Updates, Highlights & Spotlights
Here’s where we share what we’ve been up to — the meetings that matter, the spaces that moved us, and the people we’re honored to walk alongside. Whether we’re sitting with policymakers, standing in solidarity at a summit, or breaking bread in community, these moments reflect the heart of our work. Scroll through to see what’s been happening behind the scenes, in the streets, and around the tables where change begins.

ECONOMIC JUSTICE NETWORK MINI-SUMMIT
We had the honour of attending the Migration Economic Justice Network Mini-Summit, and it was so much more than just an event. It was a space filled with truth, courage, and bold collective vision. It reminded us that real change doesn’t start in policy documents — it starts in community. With stories. With solidarity. And with brave imagination. Big thank you to Migrant Action for holding this space and bringing such powerful voices together. We left inspired, grounded, and ready to keep going.

In Conversation: Peace George, Fierce Moms Conexus Founder Meets with MP Alex Sobel & Migrant Action
In July, our founder, Peace George, met with MP Alex Sobel to share her personal journey as a migrant mother and to discuss the challenges facing migrant families in the UK. The conversation covered the realities many families are navigating: instability, barriers to access, and the emotional weight of being unheard. But it wasn’t just about the struggles — it was also about solutions: community-rooted support, policy that centers dignity, and the power of lived experience to shape better systems. We’re incredibly grateful to Migrant Action for facilitating this important meeting and creating the space for voices like Peace’s to be heard where it matters most. This is what advocacy looks like — honest, human, and hopeful.

Fierce Moms Conexus Visits the Skilled Workers Hub – Leeds
We recently had the opportunity to visit the Skilled Workers Hub in Leeds. A vibrant space supporting migrant workers with migrant matters, employment guidance, and community connection. From conversations about skilled work visa, job readiness and workplace rights to sharing stories over tea, it was clear: this hub is more than a service, it's a lifeline for many. We came away inspired by the resilience, talent, and drive of the people we met and deeply encouraged by the commitment of the organisations running the hub to ensure no one is left behind. Special thanks to Complete Woman CIC, Migrant Action Charity, Citizens Advice Bureau, Leeds and many more organisations who created this powerful Hub. This visit reminded us why we do what we do. When dignity, opportunity, and solidarity come together in one place, transformation happens.

This wasn’t just about tech. It was about dignity, creativity, and access. It was about making space for women especially migrant women to step into digital spaces on their own terms, without needing expensive tools or fancy degrees. We left feeling excited, empowered, and honestly… a little unstoppable. We’re so proud of everyone who showed up, asked questions, and took those first bold steps. We believe this is just the beginning. And we can’t wait to see what you all create next.
